Pfitsch, "Val di Vizze" in Italian, is a small and charming community located in the north of Italy in the South Tirolean region of Trentino. It borders Austria in the north and is home to more than 3,000 people. Wiesen is the centre of Pfitsch right at the beginning of the valley, which runs as far as the Ziller valley. 3,509m Hochfeiler mountain is the highest mountain of the Pfitscher Valley.

The pristine nature of Pfitschertal valley is the perfect setting for extended walking and hiking tours. Numerous mountain huts and charming alpine pastures invite to rest and take a snack. Nature lovers find a vast net of hiking trails ranging from easy to very difficult. Popular tours and trails are Landshuter Höhenweg trail, Hochfeilerhütte, Rosskopf or the long-distance trail "Alpine Crossing", running from Tegernsee lake to Zillertal Alps via Achensee lake and then to Vipiteno/South Tirol through Pfitschtal valley.

In case the weather changes during a mountain tour, you will find shelter at one of the many traditional mountain huts along the way also offering regional delicacies. Olpererhütte hut features an amazing view of the mountain and the crystal-clear reservoir.

Mountain bikers will be thrilled by the many challenging tours through the mountains, such as MTB-Tour to Pfitscher mountain or Pfunderer Joch.

In the winter the valley turns into a winter wonderland with about 25 kilometres of x-country skiing trails.

Bad weather is the perfect time to visit Moos castle, Vipiteno town museum and Multscher Museum. Moos castle dating from the 14^th century takes visitors back to different epochs and illustrates medieval life.

Pfitsch enjoys a continental climate with average temperatures of 17°C in the summer and -4°C in the winter. The best time to visit Val di Vizze in Itay is in August when temperatures are pleasant.
