Where is Beckenried and Klewenalp?
Beckenried is a Swiss municipality in the canton of Nidwalden. It is home to 3,733 people and covers an area of 24,25 km2 ranging from Vierwaldstättersee lake in the north to Klewenalp in the south. Risetenstock with 2,290 m a.s.l. is the highest mountain in the region. Klewenalp-Vierwaldstättersee tourist region also includes the communities of Isenthal, Seelisberg, Emmetten, Buochs and Ennetbürgen.
1,600m Klewenalp is a hiking and winter sports resort just fifteen minutes from the city of Lucerne by car. Klewenalp can be reached from Beckenried or Emmetten-Stockhütte hut and offers spectacular views.

HIKING IN KLEWENALP-STOCKHÜTTE
Families will love Goldi-Family safari – this 90-minute walk includes walks, gondolas, lift, bus and boat, passing Klewenalp, Emmetten, Seelisberg and Beckenried. Another highlight for families is the walk along in lakeshore where mysteries have to be solved.
The romantic hike across Urnersee lake starts at Rütliwiese and takes you on a 13,2 km walk towards Rigi, Lucerne and Pilatus. "Weiler Volligen" restaurant offers great food and stunning views.
"Via Urschweiz" is a more demanding five-day hike from Uri to Nidwalden.
BIKE BOARDING AND CLIMBING
A ride with the bike board, a combination of board and bike, is a great alternative to hiking. The route runs from Stockhütte to Emmetten surrounded by stunning scenery.
Klewenalp offers two climbing variants: family friendly Ergglen climbing park and Ergglen via ferrata. The climbing park is thirty minutes from Klewenalp top station. Well-secured routes from easy to difficult offer breathtaking views.
