Leogang is situated at 788 m above sea level in the province of Salzburg. The community has 3.098 inhabitants and covers an area of 90,27 km².
The small town of Saalfelden lies in the heart of the Salzburg Pinzgau surrounded only by breathtaking scenery. Together with the Leogang holiday resort, this region at the Steinerne Meer offers cultural highlights as well as great outdoor opportunities.
In winter the Asitz Ski Lifts and the Saalbach Hinterglemm Ski Circuit offer 200 km of perfectly groomed ski pistes. 55 state-of-the-art lifts take you as far as the Schattberg and the Kohlmais Mountain from where you can ski down to the neighbouring Glemm Valley.
Pay a visit to Leogang in summer. There are lots of attractions to be found in the “Valley of Games” – families follow the traces of a kobold living on Kodok Mountain. Nature enthusiasts will explore the landscape on 400 km of hiking trails and the cities of Saalfelden and Zell am See invite to a short visit. Saalfelden is host of the international Saalfelden Jazz Festival taking place each year. Museums and cultural projects attract visitors all year.
Mountain bikers and especially downhillers love this region for its diverse alpine terrain. The bike park of Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang offers numerous trails of varying difficulty, but the most demanding tour is the BIG 5 Challenge covering more the 5000 m difference in altitude from Leogang to Schattberg and Saalbach Hinterglemm.
