Hintertux Glacier is Austria’s only all-year-round ski area and snow sport enthusiasts from all over the world visit the beautiful Ziller Valley 365 days a year. A modern “glacier bus” takes you up to 3250 m. The view to the 3476m Olperer Mountain and the surrounding mountain world is absolutely spectacular.
In winter skiers and snowboarders can choose from more than 86 km of perfectly groomed ski-pistes. Modern "Funitel lifts” guarantee service in every weather. Enjoy the fantastic powder snow pistes till May.
For longer holidays, the Zillertal Super Ski Pass valid for 640 piste-kilometres and 169 lifts is the perfect alternative. The ski areas of Hochfügen-Kaltenbach, Zillertal Arena, Ziller Valley 3000 (Penken, Mayrhofen, Finkenberg) and Hintertux Glacier form the largest skiing group of the Alps.
All ski areas close for summer, Hintertux Glacier, however, stays open all-year-round. Nine lifts serve 23 km of fantastic glacier pistes. The world’s best skiers use this unique opportunity to train also in summer. So don’t be surprised to meet Ivica Kostelic on the ski-lift. Special treat for snowboarders: ‘Bretterpark’ - from April to December 15 different obstacles along 740m make sure the fun lasts.
A total of 800km of marked trails up to 2000m can be discovered by mountain bikers and cyclists in the Ziller Valley. The Ziller Valley Nature Reserve is another landmark of this area. The State of Tyrol, the Austrian Alpine Association as well as the tourism federations of Mayrhofen and Finkenberg supervise this high Alpine nature park.
