The town of Pustevny is located in the east of the Czech Republic at an elevation of 1,018 meters. The small town was already a popular destination for summer visitors at the end of the 19th Century. The colorful houses from this time in the style of folk architecture characterize the the village today. The cornerstone of winter tourism in this region was the construction of the world’s first chairlift in the 1940s.
Today 10 ski lifts carry countless winter sports enthusiasts throughout the ski area of Pustevny every winter. With 10 km of slopes, skiers and snowboarders of all levels enjoy a variety of runs. In summer, Pustevny is a popular hiking and mountain biking area since many trails converge here. The wooden chalets are inviting places to take a break and sample traditional culinary delights.
