The mystical effect of the legendary Watzmann Mountain is known by locals and visitors alike. On clear days the 2700 meter peak allows a fantastic view of Lake Königssee, Untersberg and even Bad Reichenhall. The Berchtesgaden National Park is home to rare animals such as golden eagle or groundhog.
In winter there are several ski areas available for sport enthusiasts. Skiers and snowboarders will find perfect conditions whether they choose the Jenner, the Rossfeld or the Götschen ski area. This area offers more than 80 kilometres of cross-country skiing tracks and 120 kilometres of groomed walking trails.
The Eagle’s nest high above the valley can be visited throughout the year. Once Adolf Hitler’s residence, this guesthouse now allows one of the most fantastic views over Hohen Göll, Lake Königssee, Watzmann and Salzburg.
