Where is Cambrils?

Cambrils is a Catalan town located at the heart of Costa Dorada in the north-east of Spain. It is home to 33,900 people and covers an area of 35 km2. The former fishing village looks back on a long and rich tradition Cambrils is only a few kilometres from the historic city of Tarragona and a one and half-hour drive from Barcelona. Cambrils was first settled by the Romans and now it is one of the popular holiday destinations on Costa Dorada.

Culture buffs will be thrilled by the many sights of Cambrils ranging from antique Roman excavations to museums, churches and 'Torre de Puerto’, the town’s landmark at the harbour. A trip to nearby Tarragona is a must when vacationing in this region. The archaeological Ensemble Tárraco is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a day packed with history and excitement have dinner at one of the traditional restaurants offering delicious local food and fine wine from Priorat, Penedès, Tarragona, Montsant or Terra Alta. Save at least one evening for the breath-taking sunsets at Costa Dorada.

From July to August the old town of Cambrils turns into the town market de la Villa offering clothes, food, jewellery, accessories, and souvenirs. The Wednesday Market boasts modern creations and antiquities.
