Village of Valdelinares
Valdelinares is located on the Sierra de Gúdar plateau at 1,690 meters in the Spanish province of Teruel. It is thus the highest municipality in Aragon. In truth however, the village is much more than just a cute place with 140 inhabitants. It has some hotels and private rooms for rent and a well-developed campground in the area. Seven kilometers away is the Aramón Valdelinares ski area with 10 runs at an elevation ranging from 1,700 to almost 2,000 meters. The 14 kilometers of runs are equipped with 170 snow cannons for full snow cover.
Cross-country skiers will also enjoy the local trail system and, naturally, kids will enjoy the snow park too. The offerings are being steadily expanded and improved. The closest ski resort is Javalambre, 44 kilometers away. The highest peak in the Sierra de Gúdar is Pico Peñarroya at 2,019 meters. Another place well worth visiting in the area is Alcalá de la Selva with its mighty fortress.
