The villages of Riederalp-Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp are situated on a sunny terrace high above the Rhone Valley at about 2000 metres. Holidaymakers will enjoy their stay in this traffic-free region (only accessible by cable-car). No matter which village of the Aletsch-Plateau you choose for your holidays, it will always be right in the centre of the ski area. Skiers and snowboarders find perfect conditions on the Eggishorn Mountain. A total of 36 lifts serve more than 100 kilometres of pistes. The snow-capped peaks allow a fantastic view to the Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps.
A number of marked winter walking trails are available in the Aletsch region. The 2335 metre Moosfluh Mountain is one of the absolute highlights: from here even the Jungfraujoch can be spotted. In summer 150 km of hiking trails and 300 km of mountain bike routes run through gentle Alpine meadows set against the backdrop of the impressive Aletsch Glacier.
