The Lower Austrian Municipality of Annaberg belongs to the Lilienfeld District/ Mostviertel Alps and lies at an elevation of 976 m. It covers an area of 63.50 km² and is home to 545 people; in 1971 1040 people still lived in this remote village in Austria. The centre of Annaberg offers a fantastic view to Ötscher and all the neighbouring mountains.

What’s going on in Annaberg in the winter?
Annaberg Ski Resort features a total of 12.5 km perfectly groomed ski pistes and seven ski lifts. It is a great place for families as well as for expert skiers, who will enjoy the more challenging FIS-slopes. Equipment rental and ski lessons are available. The little ones will enjoy the training terrain with two lifts, funny figures and an enchanted forest. Anna - Park boasts rails, boxes as well as ski and boarder-cross courses. Off the ski trails we recommend tobogganing, cross-country skiing, snowshoe hiking, curling or winter hiking. What To Do in Annaberg in the Summer?
Beautiful Annaberg offers loads of leisure activities also in the summer. Tourists from all over the world come and visit this region. Families will enjoy a hiking tour through the famous Ötscher Gorges, part of Ötscher – Tormäuer Nature Reserve. Haflinger horses have been bred for the past 80 years in Annaberg and many stables offer riding lessons and rides. Watch one of the Annaberg Concerts at the market place and enjoy some local delicacies. The highlight of every summer season is Seespitzfest, taking place on the first Saturday of August. A trip to Mariazell is always worthwhile. Cyclist will be challenged on Mariazeller Street, leading from Türnitz to Annaberg.
