Mount Predigtstuhl is situated in the northern part of the Eastern Alps, which are dominated by a continental climate with significant daily and seasonal variations in temperature. Predominant wind directions determine the general weather situation. Westerly winds carry warmth and moisture from the gulf stream, whereas easterly winds often generate very low temperatures. The area sees the most rain in June and in November, while July and August are the hottest months, July being the driest on the average.
