Alassio is a town in the province of Savona located in the region of Liguria in Italy about 95 km from Genoa. It covers an area of 17 km² and is home to around 11,000 people.

What to Do in Alassio?
Riviera di Ponente is known for its wide sandy beaches and soft hilly countryside. Alassio is part of the so-called Riviera delle Palme, sandy beaches alternate with rocky coasts. Alassio and the neighbouring Laigueglia lie in Baia del Sole bay, one of the most popular destinations on the Ligurian coast because of its white sandy beaches. The 3km long beach of Alassio is ideal for families, not only for its shallow water but also for Castelli di sabbia: every summer sand castle building competitions are organised for everyone to participate.
What to See in Alassio?
Sun, sea and beach – that’s not all Alassio has to offer. There are many cultural must-sees: the historic Old Town with its old palazzi and churches or Muretto di Alassio, the garden wall. In the 1950s and 1960s it was a popular meeting point for young lovers and today is has become a piece of art covered with texts and signatures of famous people. Explore the local galleries and libraries or stroll through one of the two beautiful parks, Parco di Villa Fiske or Giardini di Villa della Pergola. The parks, the English style mansions on the hills above the town, the Anglican church and Hanbury Tennis Club date from the late 19th century when Alassio became a popular holiday destination for people from England. The small fishing port of Luca Ferrari is also a special place to visit.
