This picturesque little town in the centre of the Puster Valley lies at the bottom of the famous Kronplatz skiing mountain surrounded only by the unique rock formations of the Dolomite Alps. The historic town centre, the medieval rows of houses, remains of the curtain wall and four town gates give evidence of the town’s importance already in the Middle Ages. Tourism has always been the most important branch of business. Bruneck and its environs, therefore, offer most modern tourism infrastructure, many restaurants and cafés. Bruneck Castle
Beautiful big castle enclosed by a strong wall with towers, located on an easily accessible hill above the town. Main entrance to the castle is the south gate which once was accessible by a drawbridge.
