The Czech municipality of Račice lies close to Roudnice nad Labem in the Elbe valley and sits on the lefts bank of the river Elbe. The village is part of the Okres Litoměřice district.

The Elbe is one of the major rivers of Central Europe. It rises in the Czech Republic, flows through Germany and then into the North Sea. Explore the river and the surrounding landscape on a bicycle tour along the Elbe Cycle Trail.

Račice is the major rowing and flatwater canoeing venue in the Czech Republic. It hosted several events such as 1993 World Rowing Championships.

The region enjoys a temperate and warm climate with an average annual temperature of 10,1° Celsius. The summer is pleasant whereas the winter is cold and windy. The best time to visit, e.g., for a bicycle tour, is June to September. July is the hottest month of the year with temperatures of 15°C-24° Celsius. July sees most of the rain while February is the driest month of the year.
