What to Do in Reith im Alpbachtal
Reith im Alpbachtal is an ideal holiday resort for families all the year round. The town sits in a flat-floored valley and offers many hiking trails and paths. The children love the magic forest “Juppi Zauberwald“ on Reither Kogel and the children’s park, where they can live it up and have fun under the open sky. Lake Reithersee in the middle of the town is easy to reach and thus perfect for cooling down after a great hike.
“Almabtrieb”, the return of the cattle from the mountain pastures into the valley in autumn, is a marvelous all-ages event: With cattle decorated for the ceremony, a farmer’s market and a craft fair, music and plenty of Tyrolean culinary delights the Almabtrieb in Reith im Alpbachtal is the event of the year.
Reith im Alpbachtal in winter is also the place for the whole family. Reither Kogel is a perfect ski area for beginners and newcomers - riding up to the peak of the Kogel comfortably on the gondola and skiing down the slopes performing nice turns. Those who don’t get enough skiing during the day can enjoy night skiing down the floodlit pistes three times a week. Winter sports enthusiasts can also use the free shuttle bus service to and from the nearby ski area of Alpbach.
