Umhausen is a municipality of the Imst district in the western state of Tyrol / Austria. Umhausen is home to more than 3,450 people and covers an area of around 137 km². Located at 1,031m a.s.l. this Tirolean community sits in the Ötztal Alps at the torrential fan of Horlachbach stream and borders the Stubai Alps in the east. Neighbouring communities are Arzl im Pitztal, Roppen, Sankt Leonhard im Pitztal, Sankt Sigmund im Sellrain, Jerzens, Längenfeld, Oetz, Sautens and Silz.
Stuibenfall waterfall is a must-see when visiting Umhausen/Ötztal. In the summer the region is a perfect destination for hikes and walks suitable for all levels of ability. Sonnenplateau at 1,50m a.s.l. and Schweinfurter Hütte are very popular destinations.
Other outdoor activities include climbing, horseback riding, riding a carriage, trail running, geo-coaching, mountain biking, kayaking, rafting and lots more. You find relaxation at one of the lakes or the adventure and outdoor swimming pools, such as Arena Sölden, Aqua Dome Längenfeld, Längenfeld outdoor swimming pool, Umhausen lake, Piburger lake, AREA 47 and Oetz Adventure Swimming pool.
